There are three themed rooms at Sea Breeze B&B in Napier – Imperial Asian, Turkish and Indian. Our choice was the Turkish room – it’s a visual delight with its rich red walls and gold trimmings. The room, and infact the whole B&B is so well maintained we felt like the first guests, however Cafer and Fiona have been hosting visitors for over 10 years.
The Turkish room has its own ensuite, the rich colours don’t continue in to the bathroom – it’s all white and spotless. There’s an LCD TV in all guest rooms and reading material in the sun room, you can get lost in Lonely Planet’s ‘Countries of the World’.
Self serve continental breakfast is included in the tariff (from $100) – try the home made apricot and garam masala jam. The sun room looks out to the beach so it’s the place to have breakfast.
The B&B is a short walk down Marine Parade to Napier’s city centre if you want to dine out – sweet treat fans may like to try the DIY doughnuts at Mr D. (Note that Sea Breeze has no private guest car parking – parking is on the street or in the parking area across the road, we parked on the street without issue).
Follow the beach down Marine Parade
We were more than impressed with our latest unusual place to stay. If you’re looking for a well priced, welcoming and immaculate B&B in Napier we reckon Sea Breeze will gently ‘blow your socks off’.
