2015 Update: The Scenic Hotel Auckland ‘Take a Break’ deal has been extended to 31 October 2015.
The deal – $199 gets you one nights accommodation for two in a standard studio, $80 inhouse food credit, bottle of wine, car parking and a 12 noon check out.
Where? 4 star Scenic Hotel, 380 Queen Street (opposite Aotea Square and Auckland Town Hall). If a visit to Auckland isn’t on your agenda, Scenic Hotels are offering hotel deals at some of their other properties around NZ.
We upgraded to a superior room for our stay, below are photos of the kitchenette and lounge/dining. The bedroom was separate and could be hidden away behind folding doors. It was our first stay at Scenic Hotel but it won’t be our last, especially if we can nab another deal. (Usual rate starts at around $157 for a standard studio – room only).
We stayed for a few days and used our food credit for breakfast and a couple of dinners in MLC Cafe & Bar. We noticed a lot of people coming in for the $24.95 two course pre-show dinner special, so it’s not just the accommodation deals that pull in the punters. If you’re wanting to dine out it’s a short walk to one of our favourite dining options in the city – Elliott Stables on Elliott Street. Depot Eatery on Federal Street is also nearby, it was packed at 9pm on a Sunday night when we passed by, so it’s still very popular.
If you’re driving, head up Queen Street from the harbour end, there’s a loading zone outside the hotel where you can park to unload your luggage. Valet parking takes care of your car, note that you probably can’t access your car late at night or very early in the morning, but double check with the hotel before you book.
