Hi Rachael, thanks for the list, I've seen a few we'd love to visit. I can also recommend Hathaway House in Stratford, not so much unusual but an absolute classic BNB. Victorian house beautifully restored, delightful gardens, huge farmhouse breakfast to help you climb the peak and if you book room 3 the most amazing view of Mt Taranaki just by peeking out the window above your head- a sunrise definitely worth waking early for.
