Hapuku Carriages is a uniquely Kiwi Bed & Breakfast in the Hapuku settlement, a few minutes drive from Kaikoura. Spend the night in a beautifully restored railway carriage with the Kaikoura ranges in the background and a peaceful beach across the road.

Enjoy a soak in the outdoor bath, take a walk down the beach or sit back with a book or DVD/CD from the guest library. A full cooked breakfast is served and includes free range eggs, homemade muesli and café style coffee. Our motto at Hapuku Carriages – ‘There are no strangers here – just friends we haven’t met’.

Accommodation at its finest

Luxurious carriage by the sea
This is a magical place to stay, a unique not to be missed experience to spend the night in a beautifully refurbished railway carriage right on the beach. The attention to little details by the hosts enhances the experience - chocolates, wine in the fridge, fresh flowers, lovely toiletries, an outdoor bathtub! Breakfast was delicious. (bourkecm)
